# Brand kit

The Mru mark, the lockup, the colors and the type, with files to download.

The mark

## A circle, with an orbit through it.

The circle comes from *maru*, the suffix of seagoing ships. The orbit tilts at 22 degrees. The mark is the same on Earth and in space.

## The mark and the name.

The word is set in Futura, medium. In the files, every letter is an outline, so they look the same without the font.

Colors

## Ink, paper and one warm signal.

The site follows the reader's light or dark setting. Ochre means one thing only: something is still working.

## Three typefaces, each with one job.

Where a reader does not have Futura or Charter, the site uses an open font in its place.

Use

## Use the files as they are.

You can use the mark to refer to Mru honestly, for example in an article, a talk or a list of tools that work with it. Do not use it in a way that suggests we made or endorse your work. The full terms are in the [trademark notice](https://github.com/mruspace/brand/blob/main/TRADEMARK.md).

-   Keep clear space around the mark of at least half the ring's diameter.
-   Use the mark at 16 px or larger, and the lockup at 24 px tall or larger.
-   Use dark ink on light backgrounds and light ink on dark ones.
-   Do not recolor, rotate, stretch or outline the mark, or add effects to it.
-   Do not set "Mru" in another typeface.
